Emergency Response Team

ERT Search & Rescue (ERT SAR) is an Emergency and Disaster Response Search & Rescue organisation cross trainned in several rescue and emergency disciplines. 

ERT SAR frames its response services within the structure of working effectively by cross training in several specialist and advanced subjects whilst also develping a strong base in Emergency Response and our role in the Disaster Response Cycle.

ERT SAR was not established solely as a Missing Person (Mis-Per) type search and rescue team but does obviously train in a multi-terrain environment and WILL deploy to a Mis-Per call out using whatever Rescue disciplines to our avail.

ERT Search and Rescue was founded on 1st December 2002 as a non-profit NGO by Gary Foo and gained charity status in 2004.  It was known as OSAR (Oxfordshire Search & Rescue) and later changed to ERT Search and Rescue.  ERT (Emergency Response Team) Search and Rescue is a legal entity and non-profit corporation limited by guarantee and a Registered Charity and International NGO. 

ERT Search & Rescue has trained UN Coordinators and is a UN INSARAG LISTING (International Search & Rescue Advisory Group) SAR Team and is listed on the United Nations registry.

1 ERT SEARCH & RESCUE is an international NGO (Non Government Organisation) established to relieve suffering and distress among persons affected by hazards, risks, emergencies and disasters in the United Kingdom and Globally all over the world.

2 Our Vision is safer, more secure & prepared world against emergencies and disasters or all kinds.

3 ERT SAR provides disaster risk reduction strategies, resilience, training, education, support, assistance and care.

4 ERT SAR provides emergency and disaster response, search and rescue, and medical teams to deploy to respond to help others, reduce suffering, preserve live and establish a place of safety where possible to aid recovery.

5 ERT SAR medical and response and educational team provide these services to men, women and children - saving live and enhancing quality of life, all over the world.

6 ERT SAR provides many programmes year round at all levels, such as community programmes, educational programmes, training courses, medical first responder services, emergency services support, civil defence and civil protection services.

7 The ERT SAR Motto is "...That Others May Live...."

8 ERT SAR follow internationally established best practise and international laws to deploy to rescue and help others in emergencies, disasters or in preparation of these imminent hazards or risks.

9 ERT SAR is also an umbrella body and membership association.
